Terms of Use

Effective date: 2026-09-23Revised: 2026-09-23

These Terms of Use apply to File Box (the “App”) and are between you and the developer identified in Section 14 (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

Please read these terms before using the App or purchasing membership. Users below the local age for entering contracts independently should use and purchase under guardian supervision and with consent where legally required.

1. App and License

File Box provides local file management, media browsing, playback, and file processing. No File Box account is required.

Your license is nontransferable and covers Apple devices you own or control under Apple’s usage rules, including permitted Family Sharing or volume purchasing. Sharing eligibility for individual purchases depends on App Store information and configuration.

Ownership of the App is not transferred. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

2. Files and Backups

You retain rights to your files and must have permission to import, process, play, or share them.

Files are stored locally by default. We do not provide cloud custody of your files and cannot recover local files from our servers. System backups, device migration, and copies you export are managed by the relevant system or service.

Back up important files before overwriting or permanently deleting them, emptying Trash, uninstalling, changing devices, or performing important processing operations. Check the results of file processing. App Lock and Private Space do not replace backups or guarantee absolute security.

3. Acceptable Use

Respect applicable law and others’ privacy, copyright, and other rights. Do not distribute unlawful content, access others’ files without permission, alter purchase records, or bypass membership verification to obtain unpaid access.

Do not copy, redistribute, sell, or reverse engineer the App without authorization, except where law or an applicable open-source license permits. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses.

4. Free Trial

The App currently offers a 14-day local free trial starting from first use. Remaining trial time is displayed in the App.

This is not an App Store subscription trial. It does not automatically charge you or create a subscription when it ends. A paid purchase requires your separate confirmation. Reinstallation does not guarantee a new trial.

After the trial, membership-restricted features require an active entitlement.

5. Membership Plans and Pricing

All three plans include the advanced features listed on the purchase screen:

  • Monthly membership: renews monthly and provides access during its active term.
  • Yearly membership: renews yearly and provides access during its active term.
  • Lifetime membership: a one-time purchase with no recurring renewal or preset membership expiration date.

The App Store purchase confirmation shows the applicable price, currency, billing period, and offer conditions. These terms do not set fixed prices across regions.

“Lifetime” refers to the App entitlement, not a promise of cloud services, indefinite technical support, or compatibility with every future device or operating system. This clarification does not reduce purchased entitlements or statutory rights.

6. Subscriptions, Cancellation, and Plan Changes

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple account and renew under the rules shown by the App Store. To avoid renewal, cancel before the current period ends within Apple’s required timeframe, generally at least 24 hours beforehand.

Manage your subscription through the App’s Manage Subscription entry or your Apple account subscription settings. Cancellation normally leaves access available for the remainder of the paid period. Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription.

The App Store handles monthly/yearly plan changes, effective dates, charges, and any price adjustments. System confirmation and actual transactions determine the outcome.

The App does not offer a lifetime purchase during an active subscription. Once the subscription expires and no active subscription is confirmed, you can purchase lifetime membership at the displayed price. The App does not credit previous subscription payments toward that purchase.

7. Purchase Verification and Offline Use

The App confirms membership through purchase status supplied by Apple StoreKit. Order history shows past purchases and does not by itself establish a current entitlement.

At startup, the App may temporarily use saved membership status before reconciling it with purchase information. Network, Apple service, or device issues may affect prices, purchases, restoration, or verification.

The App does not continuously poll membership status. Cached access may be used offline. Currently, more than 10 consecutive offline confirmations during purchase-status checks (the 11th occurrence) disable cached paid access for monthly, yearly, and lifetime memberships. When a network path is available and purchase-status verification succeeds, the counter resets and access is restored or updated according to the result.

This is neither a count of offline days nor a per-minute counter. Disabling cached access does not delete Apple orders or cancel subscriptions. Reconnect and refresh the membership page in Settings, or use Restore Purchases.

8. Restoration, Refunds, and Entitlement Changes

After reinstalling or changing devices, use the Apple account used for purchase and Restore Purchases to retrieve restorable entitlements.

Apple processes payments and refunds. You can request a refund through Apple’s Report a Problem page. Eligibility and processing follow Apple’s rules and applicable law; we do not promise approval of every request.

Expiration, refunds, or transaction revocation may end the associated entitlement, subject to confirmed purchase status. Canceling renewal is not a refund, and restoring purchases does not automatically repurchase an expired subscription.

9. Privacy and Third-Party Services

Our Privacy Policy explains data handling.

Follow applicable third-party terms when using services such as the App Store, sharing, casting, or websites. Your network provider’s charges may apply.

Files and information you send to other apps, devices, or websites are handled by your chosen recipients under their rules.

10. Changes and Support

We may update the App to fix issues, accommodate system changes, or improve the experience. Availability depends on devices, system versions, file formats, permissions, and third-party services.

We will appropriately communicate changes materially affecting purchased entitlements and address those entitlements as required by law. Contact Section 14 for support.

11. Apple Platform Provisions

Apple is not a contracting party. We are responsible for the App, content, support, applicable warranties, and product, regulatory, consumer, and privacy claims. Apple need not maintain or support the App.

For failure to meet an applicable warranty, notify Apple for reimbursement of the App price. As legally permitted, remaining warranty obligations and losses are ours, not Apple’s. We handle investigation, defense, and resolution of third-party claims that the App infringes intellectual property.

You confirm you are neither in a US-embargoed or US-designated terrorism-supporting country nor on a US prohibited or restricted-party list.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries, entitled upon your acceptance to enforce these terms against you; their acceptance of that right is deemed given. These terms must remain consistent with applicable Apple usage rules.

12. Responsibility and Termination

We do not promise error-free, uninterrupted operation or support for every file. Liability is determined by applicable law. These terms do not exclude or limit non-excludable warranties, liabilities, or consumer remedies.

You may stop using the App. For a material breach, we may terminate the relevant license as legally permitted, with notice and an opportunity to remedy where appropriate. Stopping use or terminating a license does not replace canceling your subscription through the App Store.

These terms do not require you to waive lawful complaints, court proceedings, or other remedies.

13. Updates and Languages

We may revise these terms for feature, platform, or legal changes. Material changes will be communicated through appropriate channels, such as the App, website, or App Store page, with consent sought where required. Changes will not retroactively diminish acquired statutory rights.

Revisions apply from their stated effective date. Language versions are intended to convey the same meaning. Differences will be interpreted with regard to applicable law and consumer protections; using a translation alone does not reduce your rights.
